Help for Ex-Offenders
NACRO
www.nacro.org.uk/services/prisoners.htm
Resettling ex-offenders and prisoners to reduce the risk of their re-offending is at the heart of crime prevention work.

Dedicated Resettlement Plus Helpline offers information and advice to
ex-offenders, serving prisoners, their families and friends and organisations working with them. Each year, the Helpline deals with over 7,000 enquiries. The most common enquiries are about dealing with a criminal record, and how to find work and somewhere to live.

  • The annual cost of crime is £60 billion
  • Employment can reduce re-offending by between a third and a half
  • But a criminal record can seriously diminish employment opportunities
